The Monaseed Community Group is a community group with the status of a limited liability company. The group was formed in 1997 and became a limited company in 2003. Since its formation, the group has undertaken and completed several improvement works in Monaseed village to develop and enhance the local environment for its residents.

The main objectives of the Monaseed Community Group are:

To enhance the local rural environment to the benefit of local residents and visitors to the area

To form and control a plan for development of the village on behalf of community residents

To develop the Monaseed Community Sports & Culture Centre for the village as a focus for village activities and events

To encourage safe pedestrian traffic within the village, and to increase access to local amenities

The Monaseed Community Group currently has nine main committee members. All work is carried out on a voluntary basis. The Group meets every 3-4 weeks.

The Monaseed Community Group has undertaken several development projects within the village, including:

Landscaping and planting of the Church parks at the bridge

Extension of church graveyard and provision of toilet facilities

Completion of a road widening scheme, to ease traffic congestion and make the road safe for residents and visitors, has recently been completed. This has included an 800 yard footpath between the Church and the Primary School

Modernisation of the Miles Byrne Community Hall. Improvements to the kitchen and lighting were carried out with a grant of €18,500 from the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. The installation of a modern 'air-to-air' heating system was paid for by a grant of €7,500 from the Wexford Sustainable Energy Programme

Purchase of a one acre site in the heart of the village, adjacent to the village hall and opposite the school for the Monaseed Community Sports & Culture Centre
